History belongs to the Intercessors

Hey freak
you're an alien on planet earth
a million miles from home.
You hear voices
(the call of the wild).
And deep down you know
you are more than you have become.
(Tomorrow exists in you today).
History belongs to the intercessors.
So do you dare to be alone with God?
Do you dare to share
the prayer burden for an entire generation?
Light the fire and watch it spread:
non-stop prayer
across the nations
for a generation lost in space
"Pray continually" (Jesus):
simple as that.

Prayer for humility

Lord, it's hard for me to care about others. It's a lot easier to care about myself. It's just easier to care about what l can accomplish and how l am being recognized and how l compare. But you've shown the way. If l exalt myself, l miss out on your best. When l humble myself, Lord, l discover that you're able to give a strength and a power through depending on you that l do not and cannot have on my own. Apart from Christ l can do nothing, but in Christ l can do all things! In Jesus' name l pray. Amen.

"The only humility that is really ours is not that which we try to show before God in prayer, but that which we carry with us in our daily conduct" -Andrew Murray

Ways of my heart

l know the ways of my heart,
l have desired nothing but to quench the desires of my flesh,
The thoughts of my heart have been laid bare before me me'
They are ever leading me away from you.

My heart is deeply troubled, my Lord,
Its filled with feelings of loneliness and despair,
Deep down inside there's a sense of hopelessness,
Loneliness remains my best companion.

The sacrifices of a broken heart you will not despise,
Create in me a new heart, a pure heart,
Wash me in the blood of the Lamb,
And burn my sins away with the fire of the Holy Spirit.

Raise me up again, Lord,
Renew within me a steadfast spirit,
Clothe me in the righteousness of Jesus,
That l may sing of your praises again.

Restore to me the joy of your salvation,
That my lips may declare aloud your faithfulness
The truth of your Word has set me free,
The enemy can no longer bind.

Jesus is my freedom, my truth, my light, my righteousness,
He who made himself nothing, is my life!
My hope shall forever be in God.
In Jesus l will place my trust.

Humility

Humility is perfect quietness of heart,
It is for me to have no troubles;
to never be fretted or vexed or irritated or sure or disappointed.
It is to expect nothing, to wonder at nothing that is done to me,
to feel nothing done against me.
It is to be at rest when nobody praises me
and when l am blamed or despised.
It is to have a blessed home in the home in the Lord
where l can go in and shut the door and kneel to my Father
in the secret and be at peace as in a deep sea of calmness
when all around is trouble.
It is the fruit of the Lord Jesus Christ's redemptive work on Calvary's cross,
manifested in those of His own who are definitely subject to the Holy Spirit.

A Woman's Question

Do you know you have asked for the costliest thing
Ever made by the Hand above?
A woman's heart, and a woman's life-
And a woman's wonderful love.

Do you know you have asked for this priceless thing
As a child might ask for a toy?
Demanding what others have died to win,
With the reckless dash of a boy.

You have written my lesson of duty out,
Manlike, you have questioned me.
Now stand at the bars of my woman's soul
Until l shall question thee.
You require your mutton shall always be hot'
Your socks and your shirt be whole;
l require your heart to be as God's stars
And as pure as His heaven your soul.

You require a cook for your mutton and beef,
l require a far greater thing,
A seamstress you're wanting for socks and shirts-
l look for a man and a king.

A king for the beautiful realm called Home'
A man that His maker God,
Shall look upon as He did on the first
And say "It is very good."

l am fair and young, but the rose may fade
From this soft young cheek one day;
Will you love me then 'mid the falling leaves,
As you did 'mong the blossoms of May?

Is your heart an ocean so strong and true,
l may launch my all on its tide?
A loving woman finds heaven or hell
On the day she is made a bride.

l require all things that are grand and true,
All things that a man should be;
If you give this all, l would stake my life
To be all you demand of me.

If you cannot be this, a laundress and cook
You can hire and little pay to pay;
But a woman's heart and a woman's life
Are not to be won that way.

Prayer Perserveres

Dan 10:10-12, Luke 18:1-8

You must always pray and never give up. Persevering prayer requires that you be persistant and keep knocking on the door, until God has established that which he has promised. Humble yourself, seek understanding with prayer and fasting and never give up! Sometimes prayer requires persistance because it is an act of warfare. Its not that God doesnt hear you. Although the victory has been won the battle still rages on. Prayer is about submitting to God's will and trusting in the promise of His word. In it we say 'not my will, but yours be done!

Never give up!!! PUSH!!!

Why my heart?

Why do you break my heart?
Do you not see that the Lord loves you?
Why do you feel so rejected my heart?
Do you not see that the Lord's arms are wide open?

Lord the enemy has assaulted my heart,
His arrows pierce me deep within,
He mocks me and he laughs at me,
As l sit at the bottom of the pit,
Do you not hear the cry of my heart?

Why are you still shackled my heart?
Do you not see that the Lord has set you free?
Why are you so disturbed my heart?
Do you not see there is peace in the presence of the Lord?

Lord the enemy has assaulted my heart,
His arrows pierce me deep within,
He mocks me and he laughs at me,
As l sit at the bottom of the pit,
Do you not hear the cry of my heart?

Why are you so weak my heart?
Do you not see that the Lord is your strength?
Why do you feel so alone my heart?
Can you not understand that the Lord is with you?

Lord the enemy has assaulted my heart,
His arrows pierce me deep within,
He mocks me and he laughs at me,
As l sit at the bottom of the pit,
Do you not hear the cry of my heart?

Why are you so deceived my heart?
Do you not know the Word of the Lord?
Why are you so blinded my heart?
Do you not know that the Word of the Lord is a light unto your path?

Lord the enemy has assaulted my heart,
His arrows pierce me deep within,
He mocks me and he laughs at me,
As l sit at the bottom of the pit,
Do you not hear the cry of my heart?

Rise my heart rise,
For the Lord has risen,
Arise and shine my heart,
For Jesus Christ is Alive.

Prayer

"Prayer is not primarily about changing things somewhere out there. It is first and foremost about changing something 'in here'. The most powerful thing that can happen is that you yourself become the prayer. You leave the prayer room as Jesus' hands and feet on earth" This is what it means to pray continually, to see with the eyes of Jesus and to hear with his ears with every waking moment. The most important thing that any prayer can provide is an opportunity to be alone with our eternal Father.

Love as Jesus loves you

"A new commandment l give you:love one another. As l have loved you, so you must love one another." John 13:34.

To love as Jesus loves me. A seemingly insurmountable task. How can l, the sinner l am, begin to even love as Jesus loves. Is it even possible in the world we live in today to extend a helping hand to another and love them with a Jesus kind of love? This is beyond me. l cant even begin to imagine what that might even look like or play out in my everyday life. Its an impossible task, yet its something that Jesus commands us to do. Why would God require us to do the impossible? What does God see in us that He would ask us to do such a thing, knowing very well that we in ourselves are plagued by sin and surely cannot possibly love like that? Could this place of complete helplessness be the very place God wants me to be in? Is the key to loving like Jesus, lie in realizing that on my own l simply cannot do it?

It is only out of the fullness of God's love that we can love, for we cannot give that which we do not have. We love because God loved us first. "We love because he first loved us." l John 4:19 The capacity to love like Jesus loves comes from the realization that on my own l cannot do it. Its too big a task for any man to do. Its only by depending on God and relying on him that this can be done. We simply do not have the strength to do it alone. You simply cannot love by trying harder or better. Its not about trying harder, it is about trusting in Jesus. Your strength lies in trusting in Jesus. Human love wears out, but God's love lasts forever. Jesus said "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me." John 14:1. This massive challenge invites us to call upon the power of God. That is why God calls us to do the impossible, so that our faith may not rest in our own abilities or strength, but in Him and Him alone. All that we do can and should be done through the power of the Holy Spirit, so that God is glorified because ultimately He is the one who does it.
